I am the Great Finder of Things

I find all kinds of interesting things online.  Old friends through free whitepages type sites.  Some elusive item that either I or someone I know wants.   A really interesting recipe.

I like to think of this as a challenge.  Can I find it?  How fast can I do it?  Where’s the best coupon code?  It’s finding pieces of a puzzle and then trying to put them together when you don’t always know what the final product is supposed to look like.   I don’t know why I love that kind of stuff, but it’s right up my alley.

But I never really thought much about this knack of mine until May of 2011 when I became allergic to corn and all its derivatives.  It was a pretty serious reaction, but not quite anaphylactic.  I immediately put myself on an elimination diet and started keeping a food journal to figure out what caused my esophagus to swell.    Then I hit the web.  Before I could even get in to see an allergist, I had found a wealth of information online….a list of all the corn derivatives, several blogs and a few online groups.

I hope to post some of cool things here as I find them.  The subjects of my findings will be all over the place, just like the title of my blog (hopefully) indicates.   🙂

  1. It’s interesting to me how many people are not successful with online searching. Often times I want to say LMGTFY (Let Me Google That For You) in a sarcastic tone, but I really can “google” something quicker and with more successful results than they can. I can also usually find missing objects for people at home or work. But, I can’t find my own crap for love or money!
